MEMBERSHIP & FEES

Who can become a member?

Anyone 14 years or older can become a member of CYNF.

Unfortunately at this time, due to restrictions in the US Child Online Privacy Protection Act, we have to restrict access to children under the age of 14 as we do require an e-mail address from all members. We are currently researching methods to enable parents to approve membership applications for children who are 13 or younger.

Free Membership

Silver membership is free, make sure that you invite as many friends as possible so they too can enjoy the benefits of CYNF membership.

Soon we will be offering Gold Membership with exciting and new features at a reasonable price.

Membership Types

We have two membership categories, silver and gold. At this time, our gold membership is under development, once it is available we will be sure to let you know.

Below is summary of the features:

The difference between Adult and Young People membership

We differentiate between Young People and Adults by taking measures to exclude certain material descriptions from those who indicate their age is between 14 and 17. This includes excluding those items rated R (restricted), NR(not rated), UR (unrated) and the filtering of certain offensive words.

We are further researching methods for improving this service for Young People. Including methods for including Young People under the age of 14.

Note:
(1) We rely partially on members information input such as ratings to filter content on this site and therefore we can not guarrantee that members of any age will not be exposed to information of an adult nature. Functions are available within CYNF to report incorrectly classified materials please use them where you see fit. Members are encouraged to enter hyperlinks to other parts of the Internet which are beyond CYNF's control, therefore we recommend parents use suitable Internet filtering technology to control their children's access.

(2) Free membership accounts are all assumed to be child memberships because it is not possible for us to verify age.

How Do I Extend My Gold Membership

In the "My Account" section of User Headquarters you can extend for your Gold Membership by clicking the "Buy more Time!" button. This will take you to a form where you pick the type of membership you require and then you are taken by a secure link to the National Australia Bank, where you enter your credit card details to purchase.

With this process we never see your full credit card details. Our bank just notifies us of the payment.

If your Gold Membership expires we automatically downgrade you to Silver Membership, so you will still be able to use most of the features of CYNF but will not have access to the advanced features of the Gold Membership .

Cost of Membership

These fees are charged in Australian Dollars. Your credit card will be billed the above mentioned fee in Australian Dollars, if this is not your home currency your credit card company will make the appropriate translation in your home currency eg. US dollars at the exchange rate on the day.

Silver membership is free and gives you the basic functions of cataloging your items and tracking of your items out on loan.

What are the rules for Group or Family Membership?

Essentially there are no rules, members do not have to be related in any manner. You and five friends can earn a discount of 50% on individual Gold Memberships by using this bulk membership arrangement.

You can even pay Gold Membership for people who have been invited but not yet signed up. That way if you want, you can invite them and then pay for their first year as a gift.

Do you give refunds?

We are so convinced in our service we offer a 100% refund on Gold Membership if you are not completely satisfied with our service when requested within the first 60 days, thereafter we reserve the right to appropriately pro-rate the amount of the refund to a minimum of $5.

Billing Information

Your credit card will be billed as follows:

"CYNF GoldMember"

Your card will be charged in Australian Dollars (AUD). Your credit card company will make the appropriate translation back to your home currency eg. US Dollars at the exchange rate on the day.

For Australian residents, included in the above cost is GST of 10%.
