General Help

Refining List:

"Filter": to fliter your list by sub-category such as "DVDs" or "XBox" use the drop down box and filter button.

View Asset Details:

To view asset details: click on the asset title to bring up asset details page. It is on this page that you can add information such as the item's warranty details, purchase price, serial number and lending information.

Gold Feature: On the asset details page you can reserve assets for a specific period of time or register a loan to a non-CYNF user as well as a CYNF user in your network. This saves on time and enables you to register a loan compared to the usual Loan Request and Confirmation process.

Individual Asset Privacy Settings :

"Dist" (Max Distance): this is a number between 1 and 3 designating how far out in your network friends can see this particular item.

For example if you set this number for your Spiderman2 DVD to 2 then your level 1 and 2 friends can see it but your level 3 friends can not.

Level 1 Friends are typically your close friends or relatives
Level 2 Friends are typically friends of friends (or more distant friends)
Level 3 Friends are typically friends of friends of friends (or remote friends).
Asset "Status": this is a asset privacy setting in addition to the Max Distance mentioned above. There are four settings:

Normal: this setting means that the item is able to be seen by your network (taking into account "Dist" above) and loan requests can be made.
Reserved: this setting means that the item is able to be seen by your network (taking into account "Dist" above) but loan requests can not be made.
Invisible: this setting means that the item is not able to be seen and also can not be borrowed.

This overides the "Max Distance" setting. ie. an invisible item is not seen by even the closest friends in your network

Sell / Swap : this Gold Member feature enables you to set the item for sell or swap in your network. This is an additional function on top of the normal setting still allowing people to see and borrow the item but also allows you to add additional information to the asset details page on what price or alternative item you would like.

Multiple Locations:

If you are a Gold Member you can define multiple locations for assets. This can be particularly useful if you use external storage, have a holiday home or boat. Alternatively you can use this to keep track of items by household member if they are too young to use CYNF themselves.

The drop down list in the last column of the list enables you to change where these items are recorded.

If you want to add or change locations you can locations tab from the tabs on the left side of CYNF HQ.

Deleting Assets:

To delete one or more assets:

Tick the box: on the left hand side next to the asset you wish to delete

You can delete more than one item at once from the same page by ticking more than one box. However you can not delete items from multiple pages this way.

Press the "Delete" Button

You can not delete items that are out on loan, the check box in these cases are replaced with a symbol saying "Out". If you want to delete an item that is out, go to the relevant loans page and register the return of the item first.

CYNF will inform you of the deletions made.

Navigation:

Navigation is easy in CYNF HQ by using a combination of the top tabs and the left side tabs to navigate through CYNF HQ.

Top Tabs: selects the asset category or group
Left Side Tabs: selects the function or information

eg. Select "Games" and "Loans" to see all applicable loans relating to Games.

Add Assets :

You can add assets at anytime.

Remember the more assets you add the more your friends can see and the more likely they are to add assets themselves.

To add additional assets click on the "Add Assets" menu item on the top of the page just under the CYNF Logo.

Invite Friends :

You can invite friends at anytime.

Remember the more friends that you add the larger your friends network becomes (especially as they add friends) and therefore the more assets that are available to borrow.

To invite friends click on the "Invite Friends" menu item on the top of the page just under the CYNF Logo and complete the e-mail form.
